The Kano Concern Citizens Initiatives (KCCI) has disbursed N5000 cash to 1000 vulnerable in Kano to help them cushion the effects of hardship during the sallah celebrations.
The distribution, which took place at the foundation’s office in Sharada, is part of the group’s efforts at supporting the poor and the needy in the state.
Chairman of the group, Sarkin Shanun Kano, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad, said they were committed to restoring the good reputations of Kano State and would do everything possible to continue where their pioneer chairman, Late Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, stopped.
He said the group was working hard to fight against drug abuse, out of school children, girl-child hawking, adding that they are ready to work with any government to achieve their aim of developing the state.

He said apart from the money given to the people, the group would also visit hospitals and correctional facilities to reach out to the patients and inmates there.
