In a statement by the group’s director of publicity, Jeremiah Edward which was made available to Sunday Trust yesterday in Abuja, the association praised the federal government for coming to the rescue of the people of the senatorial district by rehabilitating the road.
“For many years, we had made several complaints and appeals to successive administrations on the need to rehabilitate this road that was built since 1976 and nothing was done. But, we thank God that the present administration has listened to our cries. The road which links four other local government areas of Takum, Ussa, Donga and Kurmi, is very important as it leads to the neighbouring Cameroon Republic,” the statement reads in part.
Impressed by this effort, the non-governmental organisation also commended MOULD Nigeria Limited, the company that won the contract, urging it to justify the confidence reposed in it by the government and complete the work in good time.
“It is our strongest believe that your company was chosen because of its competence and therefore, we urge you to do everything possible to complete the job within the stipulated period and with the best of quality”, the statement further advised.
