Group cautions Plateau residents against inciting comment

A non-governmental organisation, Coalition For Truth, Justice, and Peace, has called on people of Plateau State to avoid making statements capable of causing problems in the state.

The group was reacting to the comments from some quarters in the state following Governor Simon Bako Lalong’s interview on Channels TV where he said both herders and farmers possessed arms for self-defence.

Comrade Ayuba Zion Garba, the Executive Director of the group while appealing for calm noted that criminality had neither religion nor tribe and therefore no side of the divide should be protected for personal interest.

“It is unfortunate that the comments of the Governor, which were spoken in truth and pursuance of a lasting solution, were taken out of context by people who have pre-conceived motives and do not see beyond their noses.
