Traditional and community leaders as well as civil society representatives in Imo State have urged the Federal Ministry of Health to investigate the role played by unionists that resulted in the death of citizens of the state in the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri
In a communiqué issued yesterday at the end of their one-day stakeholders meeting in Owerri, the leaders said the inquiry was necessary to fish out the brains behind the crisis and implement punitive measures to prevent a repeat of what happened.
Endorsed by some of the leaders, including HRH Eze Chidume, chairman of Council of Traditional Rulers, Owerri Zone, Eustace Oparandudu, Secretary General and three others, the communiqué urged the legal department of Federal Ministry of Health and Imo State government to take judicial action against FMC workers who caused the death of Imo citizens
