The Greensprings School’s IB Diploma Programme has again proved its excellence as the class of 2024 secured over $8.5million worth of scholarships to study at top-ranked universities worldwide.
One of the achievers, Emmanuela Ilok, garnered full scholarships to study Computer Science at Ivy League institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Yale University, Columbia University, and Stanford University.
In an interview, Ilok expressed her excitement, saying, “It all seems unreal. I am very excited and grateful to God, my parents, and my school.” She credited Greensprings School for her success, stating that she had been a part of the school for 15years and that it had provided her with the necessary support, motivation, and resources for excellence.
Ilok highlighted the role of the IB Diploma Programme in shaping her for success, praising its robust curriculum and rigor. She expressed joy at seeing her hard work and dedication pay off.
The School’s Deputy Director of Education, Mrs. Feyisara Ojugo, expressed her pleasure with the students’ achievements, saying, “I am extremely proud of the performance of our IB Diploma students. They have done amazingly well.
Their acceptance into top universities globally on scholarship is a testimony to their hard work and the support that our school provides to ensure that their dreams come true.”
Mrs. Ojugo commended Emmanuela Ilok for being awarded full scholarships to Ivy League universities like MIT and Yale, among others, with a 1percent acceptance rate. She emphasized Ilok’s journey from pre-school through elementary, secondary, and now the IB Diploma Programme, noting her consistent high achievement and the school’s commitment to providing the necessary support and environment for her to attain her full potential.
Mrs. Ojugo further revealed that over the years, the school has witnessed similar achievements by its IB Diploma students, with different cohorts receiving scholarships worth millions of dollars to pursue their chosen courses in their preferred institutions. She attributed this high level of success to the robustness of the IB Diploma programme, stating that going through its curriculum makes students a preferred choice for the world’s top universities and prepares them for university life.
The Greensprings IB Diploma programme is a two-year sixth-form programme designed to prepare secondary school students for life in tertiary institutions.
