The lawmaker representing Nassarawa Federal Constituency in Kano, Nasiru Ali Ahmad has initiated a N700 million project to address the problems of erosion washing away graveyards in his constituency.
Chronicle reports that several graveyards had been washed away during the rainy season this year thereby exposing dead bodies.
The project was officially flagged off on Monday at the Tudun Murtala Area of the state.
“It’s disheartening seeing the severity of damage caused by erosion especially on our properties and graveyards, that is why we need to intervene urgently by all necessary means,” Ali said while promising to fast track implementation of the erosion containment project in order to achieve the needed goal before the next rainy season.
Dignitaries at the project launching were Alhaji Yahaya Bagobiri, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau who was represented by Surajo Kaura Goje and Hon. Rabiu Baba Nabegu.
