Grammys 2022: New date, Venue Announced for Ceremony [See list of nominees]

The 2022 Grammy Awards will hold on the 3rd of April, 2022

The recording academy took to their verified Instagram page on Tuesday to announce the new date for the ceremony, it was previously scheduled to hold on the 31st of January 2022, at the Los Angeles Convention Center but due to the Omicron Variant of COVID-19, it was rescheduled to hold at the MGM Grand Garden Centre in Las Vegas on the 3rd of April 2022.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm, it would also be shown live on the CBS television network ET/5:00 pm

Trevor Noah, an award-winning comedian from South Africa will return as the host of this year’s Grammys.

Wizkid was nominated in the category of “Best Global Music Album” for his Made In Lagos record;  Made Kuti and his father, Femi, were also nominated in the same category for their joint project, “legacy+”

The duo was also nominated in the category for “Best Global Music Performance,” alongside Burna Boy for the song, “Do yourself” featuring Angelique Kidjo

Last year Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall’ album became the first afrobeat album to win a Grammy award.
