Gowon, Amuka advise Nigerians on patriotism

Speaking on Tuesday at the annual leadership award organized by the publishers of the Leadership Newspapers in Abuja, General Gowon  lamented the attitude of some Nigerians who portray the country in bad light.
Gowon said Nigerians should always strive to be patriotic in their conduct and present a positive image of the country to the outside world.
“Let us project Nigeria in that true light. Let us have no doubt that Nigeria is a nation. Whenever I hear someone say Nigeria was not a nation, I tell him to get out of it or get a nation of your own,”he said.
Also speaking, publisher of Vanguard Newspaper Sam Amuka said the fight against corruption in the country would only be successful if the leadership and followership remain focused and honest.
He advised leaders on the need to provide good leadership that would give confidence to Nigerians, especially in this democratic dispensation which the citizens have put so much hope in the last 15 years.
