The Kaduna State Government has assured that it will get justice for the 14-year-old housemaid, Janet Audu, who was burnt with hot water allegedly by her mistress and her son.
The Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hafsat Baba, said the government was concerned about the health of the victim due to the gravity of the injuries she sustained.

The commissioner, who alleged that a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state was trying to shield the perpetrators from prosecution, said with the Child Welfare and Protection Law operational in the state, the perpetrators would face justice, adding that she had moved the victim from a hospital to an undisclosed location.
According to her, Gov Nasir el-Rufai has directed the ministry to periodically update him on the case because he is worried about the minor’s health.
She further said her ministry had written a letter to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the police, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and other organisations to ensure that Janet Audu got justice for the crime committed against her.
