The Kogi State government has approved the upgrade of 88 traditional rulers across the state.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Ohere, who disclosed this in a statement yesterday in Lokoja, said 15 of the traditional rulers were upgraded from second to first class status.
The statement which was signed by the Director, Public Relations in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Jordan Akpata, added that 18 of the traditional rulers were upgraded from third class to second class status while 50 others were upgraded to third class status.
