The Edo State government has commenced training and retraining of its workforce for effective service delivery and optimal productivity.
Speaking at a one-day intensive training programme organised by the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues, the State Head of Service, Mr. Anthony Okungbowa, said the training is in line with ongoing reforms in the civil service by the governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration.
Okungbowa said: “If you expect civil servants to perform optimally then you must provide the facilities for them to do so.”
A participant, Edward Osigbemhe, described the training as timely and that it will improve service delivery.
