Sokoto state  government is to rebuild the popular  Kara Yankatako market which was destroyed by fire last weekend.
It also said adequate safety measures would be put in place to curb the frequent fire incidents in public places.
The state Governor Aminu Tambuwal disclosed this when he visited the scene of the market fire in Sokoto last Saturday.
He said  a committee had been set up to ascertain the cause of the fire and make recommendations to the state government.
The committee has Alhaji Bello Adamu as its chairman and  Abubakar A. Abubakar as Secretary.
Other members of the committee are representatives of the Police, SSS, civil defence corps and the state Fire Service Department, ministries of Justice, Lands, Home Affairs as well as  general manager of the state Central Market.
