‘Gov’t to establish fund for security operatives’

The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr Onofiok Luke, has said government plans to establish a trust fund for security operatives in the state.

He said the fund which would have the legislative backing, would take off in the second term of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Speaking yesterday in Uyo with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Luke said the fund would take care of many challenges confronting security personnel in the state.

He urged people of the state to re-elect Governor Emmanuel for continued peace, security, industrialization and infrastructure development.
