Govt to curb restiveness, drug abuse

In an effort to curb youth restiveness and drug abuse, the Niger State government has ordered state Ministry for Youth and Sports Development to carry out a comprehensive strategic plan towards youth enlightenment on social vices.

Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Umar Emmanuel announced this in Minna where he said the programme is aimed at taking such youths away from drugs and other vices and ensure they contribute positively to the growth and development of Niger state.

Mr Emmanuel said the ministry will be engaging relevant stakeholders, such as office of Wife of Niger State Governor, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, tertiary Institutions, youth-based organizations, religious bodies and market women for the success of the crusade.
