Niger State Ministry of Education has set up a 15-man committee headed by the Chairman, Niger State Private Schools Board, Alhaji Jibrin Alkali, to regulate the proliferation of private schools in the state.
The State Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibril Salihu, said during the inauguration that the state was concerned with the proliferation of substandard private schools.
She said the committee was to rationalize and sanitize the operations of private schools in the state.
According to her, the terms of reference of the committee is to review the current processes and practices of the Private Schools Board with a view to identifying operational gaps and challenges.
