The Nasarawa State Government in collaboration with a foreign firm has proposed to construct a light rail to link the state to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from Keffi to Apo.
Governor Abdullahi Sule said this is intended to address the persistent problem of the daily traffic congestion on the Masaka-Mararaba-Nyanya route.
The governor revealed this while delivering his speech at a rally organised in Karu, headquarters of Karu Local Government Area, as part of the continuation of the state-wide campaign towards his re-election in 2023.
Sule informed the mammoth crowd that turned up for the rally that the Managing Director of the CCECC, Mr. David Wang, met him in Abuja on the intention of the firm to partner the state towards building the Apo-Keffi rail line, with construction work expected to commence next year.
