Gov’t influence undermine our efforts to curb building collapse – BCPG

The Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG Lagos Island cell) has said its efforts to curb building collapse is being undermined by compromise and political influence.

The group, in a statement, issued by Gbaja- Biamila Fashola said that undue  political influence  is the barrier  to the Building Collapse Prevention Guild  struggle against building collapse on the Lagos  Island, and   appealed  to Governor  Akinwumi  Ambode,  Oba  of Lagos,  Rilwan  Akiolu and Asiwaju  Ahmed Tinubu to support its  cause against bad developers and negligent regulators.

The statement reads, “There are many buildings waiting to collapse all around us. A stitch in time, saves nine.  Please, save our collective birthplace from constant danger of building collapse.”
