The Ekiti State Government has donated 10 patrol vehicles and two Armoured Personnel Carriers as well as other security equipment to the Ekiti State Police command.
Other items donated include 50 units of helmet level 3A; 50 bulletproof vests level 4; 80 pairs of tactical boots; 80 pieces of batons and 30 units of knee, elbow and glove.
Speaking at the event, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, said the equipment will enable the police provide optimum security within the state and also boost public safety.
Oyebanji noted that the equipment will enhance the operations of the police in the state, in line with the administration’s efforts at stamping out all criminal elements within the state.

In his speech, the Commissioner of Police, Ogundare Dare, described the donation as historic in the command.
The CP noted that on his assumption of office as CP in the state, he had informed the governor of the lack of operationally vehicles in the various divisions and formations throughout the state.
