The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kaduna State, Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, has dismissed the allegation that he is running a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Hunkuyi in an interview with some journalists in Kaduna Saturday described the allegation as laughable.
He further disclosed that a committee was set up to select his running mate and at the end of the exercise, an Adaraman and Christian, Dr. Sani Mazawaje, was chosen.
Senator Hunkuyi, who said he is more experienced and knowledgeable in terms of the complexity of the state than other candidates vying for the position of the governor of Kaduna State, called on the people to shun divisive politics and be careful of the antics of individuals and groups of persons who are bent on religious and tribal sentiments to win the election or retain power.
He added, “I will run an inclusive government that will see me carry everybody along irrespective of age, religion, tribe and language differences if I win the March 18, 2023 governorship election.”
