Governors of the 36 states of the federation and the Nigeria Health Commissioners’ Forum have finalised plans to meet and brainstorm on Primary Health Care (PHC) financing in states.
This was contained in a statement on Monday by Dr. Filani Oyebanji, the Chairperson, Nigeria Health Commissioners’ Forum.

He said the deliberations would focus on the role sub-national systems have to play in the process.
Dr. Oyebanji Filani, who is the Commissioner for Health and Human Service in Ekiti State, said the objective of the meeting is to develop a shared understanding on the way forward for financing PHC in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
Part of the statement reads, “To take stock of approaches to financing PHC in states, to identify common challenges and policy responses, to develop a shared understanding on the way forward for financing PHC in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
“The Primary Health Care financing forum will attract participants from the public sector, organised private sector, development partners, the academia, civil society organisations, and the media. It will be held in Abuja as a hybrid event with in-person and virtual participation on the 5th and 6th October, 2022.”
