“ACF has played a significant role in the development of the northern region and we must thank the forum. Everything will come to pass and I am confident that he will lend listening ears to all and sundry who want to contribute or say something,” the emir said.

The governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, who spoke on behalf of his Kano counterpart, said Dalhatu is a tested and trusted personality, whose integrity cannot be questioned in any way.

“He is coming at a time when Arewa needs his leadership. So, what he needs now is prayers so that he will bring Arewa back to the times of Sardauna. He has all the qualities and what it takes to be able to achieve that and we pray that Allah bless and help him,” said Governor Namadi, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye.

Earlier, the Chairman of the reception organising committee, Alhaji Shehu Muhammad said, “We are confident that his wealth of experience will go a long way in galvanising the North and solving the security and economic challenges facing the region.”
