The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, flagged-off its campaign for the Ondo State October 10 governorship election at the Akure Sports Stadium with governors, deputy governors, ministers and other leaders of the party in attendance.

The governors and the mammoth crowd defied the rain to wait for the over three hours the rally lasted.

The chairman of the national campaign council, Governor Sanwa Olu of Lagos State, said Akeredolu had performed creditably well and deserved to be re-elected for a second term in office.

He said the APC would continue to take the welfare of the people very serious, adding that  Akeredolu had done the party proud with his performance across the state.

The chairman of the national caretaker committee of the party, Governor Buni Yadi of Yobe State, said the people of the state must not allow anyone to truncate the developmental strides of the Akeredolu administration.

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, said Akeredolu’s projects were across the three senatorial districts of the state with unique and deliberate qualities.

Governor Akeredolu said he was prepared to do more than his administration had recorded in the last three and a half years in office.

He advised the people not to allow those who would come to ruin the gains that had been recorded across the state.

Earlier, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commended Akeredolu for his giant strides in the state, saying he had laid a solid foundation.

Tinubu said Akeredolu had done more than talk, and had dedicated himself and his administration to bringing development to the state.
