The Bauchi State Police Command has assured people of the state that it has put in place adequate security measures to ensure peaceful conduct of governorship primary elections taking place today, Sunday 30th September, 2018 across the state.
This was contained in a statement by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar.
It stated that the police and other security agencies will be out to ensure peaceful conduct of the process adding that the police and other security agencies are well prepared to deal with any individual or group that may attempt to forment trouble before, during and after the election.
“To that effect, the Command has deployed adequate number of policemen and other security agents to all voting centers, collation centers and flash points,” it stated.
According to the statement, the command has directed that to ensure orderly conduct of the exercise, that only registered party members with valid membership card should be at voting centers.
It added that no party member should go to the voting center with any weapon as anybody caught will be dealt with in accordance with law.
