Ganduje clears all 44 LGs in Kano

The APC governorship candidate in Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, won in all 44 LGAs of Kano State with 1,546,434 votes in last Saturday’s governorship poll.
Ganduje, the deputy governor of Kano State, defeated his close rival, Mallam Salihu Sagir Takai of the PDP who got 509, 726 votes. Similarly, APC candidates for the state House of Assembly won all the 40 seats.

APC leads in 17 LGAs in Jigawa

The result of the poll available as at 10pm last showed that the APC was leading in 17 of the 22 LGAs in Jigawa State. Results from five LGAs were being awaited at press time. At the time of filing this report, APC had 534,189 votes while the PDP had 385,296.

Okorocha floors Ihedioha in Imo

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State returned to Government House yesterday after being declared winner of the governorship election held on April 11 2015. INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Ibedapo Obe, declared yesterday in Owerri that Governor Okorocha won in 20 LGAs, pulling 392,093 votes while the PDP candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, won in seven LGAs with 305,478 to come second. The APGA candidate, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho, came third.

Ortom winning in Benue

The APC governorship candidate in Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom, was leading late yesterday as results trickled in with 394, 047 votes from 22 LGAs. The PDP candidate, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, trailed closely  with 392, 324 votes according to INEC.
Only Buruku LGA result was now being awaited for the winner to be declared.

Shettima leads in 22 Borno LGAs

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State who is seeking a second term in office under the platform of the APC was leading with a wide margin according to results made available from INEC late yesterday. Results announced by collation officers from 22 out of the 27 local government areas of the state at the INEC headquarters in Maiduguri showed that Shettima was ahead of  the PDP candidate, Alhaji Gambo Lawan in all the councils released. He had 530,430 votes while PDP got 17, 595. Collation officers from the remaining five LGAs were yet to turn in their results at about 6pm yesterday. Results were still expected from Chibok, Bama, Ngala, Hawul and Shani.

Yari set to return in Zamfara

Governor Abdulaziz Yari of the APC appears good to return to Government House in Gasau  as results from  9 of the 14 LGAs of the state obtained from INEC  showed that he was leading with a wide margin.
Incumbent Abdulaziz Yari, the PDP’s Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi and Dr Abdullahi Shinkafi of APGA contested the election. In Anka LGA, the APC scored 33,282 while the PDP got 10,075. The APC got 45,477 against PDP’s 11,664 in Bakura LGA. PDP polled 11,754 while APC got 43,379 in Maradun LGA and in Bungudu APC got 66,946 while PDP secured 15,554.
The other results are 67,511 for APC and 7,295 for PDP in Talata Mafara LGA and in Bukkuyum LGA APC got 42,638 while PDP polled 8,833.
In Zurmi, APC 52,379 and PDP 15,400 and in Birnin Magaji, PDP got 13,892 while APC got 38,548. In Gummi, APC had 60,669 and PDP got 5,835, according to the returning officers as at the time of filing this report.

PDP leads in Delta

The PDP was leading late yesterday in 11 LGAs of Delta State according to the INEC in Asaba.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Bio Nyananyo of the Federal University, Otuoke, said the results collated were as follows:  
Oshimili South: PDP – 47, 938; LP – 1, 218, APC – 1, 253; Okpe: PDP – 12, 165, LP – 7, 728, APC – 3, 706;
Ika North East: PDP – 72, 612, LP – 66, APC – 340; Bomadi: PDP – 51, 974, APC – 594, LP – 748.
Others were Isoko North: PDP – 44, 209, APC – 4, 502, LP 3, 661; Patani: PDP – 16, 421, LP – 684, APC – 771; Udu: PDP – 6, 097, LP – 15, 857, APC – 3, 369
Oshimili North: PDP – 19, 368, LP – 505, APC – 978; Ethiope West: PDP – 31, 890, LP – 1, 675, APC – 2, 329; Sapele: PDP – 13, 837, LP – 7, 848, APC – 3, 627; Isoko South: PDP – 30, 355, LP – 4, 023, APC – 10, 594.

Wike ahead in Rivers

Results from Rivers State indicated that the PDP’s Nyesom Wike won in 15 of the 17 LGA released  by INEC while Dakuku Peterside of the APC won in two LGAs.

PDP leads in Cross River

Results from seven LGAs of Cross River State including Abi, Ogoja, Bakassi,  Akpabuyo, Calabar South, Calabar Municipality and Bekwara LGAs showed that Prof Ben Ayade, the PDP governorship candidate was leading.
Late yesterday. In Akpabuyo, PDP polled 7842, APC 1997 and the LP 1463. Valid votes were 11,379.  
In Calabar South LGA, PDP got 14,535, APC 4,773, LP 1697. Valid votes were 21,079.
In Abi LGA, APC got 793, LP 6037 and PDP 17740.  In Ogoja, PDP won with 24096, LP 1696 and APC got 2810.  In Bakassi LGA, PDP won 1923, LP 241 and APC 222.  

APC wins in Plateau

Barrister Simon Lalong of the APC polled 564,894 votes yesterday to defeat Senator Gyang Pwajok of PDP who got 520,572 votes.
Scores of the two major parties in the 17 LGAs of the state in order in which results were released are as follows: Mikang LGA: APC 12,512; PDP 11,522. Bassa LGA: APC 28,770; PDP 34,341; Shendam APC 40, 464; PDP 14,476; Barkin-Ladi PDP 56,933; APC 13,151; and Langtang North APC 25,202; PDP 23,045.
For Jos East, APC got 15,356 votes to beat PDP which polled 7,752. PDP got 23,118 against APC’s 18,458 in Kanke, while PDP got 37,793 votes in Riyom to beat APC which polled 7,253. Result from Kanam showed APC getting 41,512 votes against PDP’s 30,466. In Mangu, APC got 74,981 votes to overwhelm PDP which received 28,509 votes. Votes declared from Pankshin indicated that APC polled 33,364 while PDP got 23,493.
In Bokkos the APC got 35,689 votes to PDP’s 16,111 votes; while APC got 31,760 votes in Jos South to lose to PDP which received 93,962 votes. Results announced from Langtang South and Qua’an Pan LGAs Sunday night showed that in Langtang South APC scored 13,663 while PDP got  PDP 19,061 while in Quan’an Pan APC had 27,472 votes while PDP had 19965 respectively. In Jos North APC polled 117, 443 votes while PDP got 61,391. In Wase where the last result came from late last night, APC polled
27,844; while PDP got 18,634.

Atiku wins in Kebbi

Kebbi State APC governorship candidate, Senator Atiku Bagudu, was Sunday night declared winner of the governorship election in the state. Collation Officer, Prof Mohammed Lawal Ahmed, said Bagudu won in  19 of the 21 LGA with 477,376 votes while retired Major Gen Sarkin-Yaki Bello of the PDP came second with 293,443 votes, winning in two LGAs. Director General, PDP governorship campaign organization, Ambassador Isah Aliyu Mohammed while reacting said: “The election has come and gone and the party is studying the situation from our field officers, then we will make up our minds either to leave with the results or reject it.”

Bindow leads in Adamawa

APC candidate, Muhammad Jibrilla Bindow was comfortably in the lead late yesterday after official announcement of results from 20 of the 21 LGAs of Adamawa State were announced. Bindow swept 14 LGAs, the SDP candidate, Marcus Gundiri,  won in seven areas while the PDP candidate, Nuhu Ribadu, did not win in any of the 20 LGAs released. Officials were expecting the result from Ganye LGA at the time of filing this report.
