Governor-elect presents certificate of return to monarchs

The Benue State governor-elect, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has presented his certificate of return to paramount rulers of Tiv and Idoma nations at their separate palaces in Gboko and Otukpo areas of the state.

Alia informed them that during his consultation to become governor, they blessed him and he succeeded in winning the race and deemed it necessary to return and present the certificate of return after he received it from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to attract more royal blessings before his swearing into office.

The governor-elect stated that the enthronement of the Tor Tiv and Och’Idoma as committed and God-fearing monarchs witnessed a tremendous shift from old ways to a new dawn in which he hopes to add vigour for the greater transformation agenda of God for Benue State.

Responding, the Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, assured the governor-elect of the unwavering support of the Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers to enable him fulfill his desire for a prosperous Benue.

The Tor Tiv, who is Chairman of Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, stressed that Alia’s strong belief in God has tallied with his mission to return the people to God, adding that God has already equipped him with empowerment to unite the people to pave way for peace and transformation of the state.

Also, the Idoma paramount ruler, Och’Idoma, Dr John Eliagwu Odogbo, offered prayers for the team and commended the governor-elect for being a worthy steward and an accountable leader.
