Governor Muhammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has hailed the former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), on his 80th birthday.
In a statement on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the governor, Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro, the governor described IBB “as a symbol of unity and beacon of nationalism, who worked for the unity and development of Nigeria.”

Governor Abubakar noted that having successfully navigated through 80 years of life as a military officer, military president and now an elder statesman, General Babangida represents an embodiment of experience, wisdom and legendary leadership.
He said: “His impeccable records of service to God and country will continue to serve as a reference point for countless generations.
“On this auspicious occasion of your 80th birthday anniversary, I heartily join your family, friends and associates across the globe to celebrate yet another year of God’s favour upon you in an illustrious life journey.”
