Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the 2019 general elections.
He was declared the winner after garnering 75,086 to defeat his closest opponent, former Police Affairs minister, Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame who got 3,988.
The other aspirants, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate and Captain Bala Jibrin who got 2,886 and 2,539 votes respectively.
The three other candidates had however late Monday night stated that, they have no confidence in the whole process.
Speaking after he announced the results at the state APC secretariat in Bauchi Tuesday, the Chairman, electoral committee, Professor Ahmed Bakari said that, governor Abubakar emerged the winner after getting the highest votes.
The 87,312 valid votes were cast in the election while 1,040 invalid votes were obtained and 1,686 unused ballot papers were returned.
The primaries was however not devoid of some reservations about the process.
The three other aspirants and their supporters had at different times kicked against the whole process.
At their last press briefing Monday night, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate and Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame disclosed that they have lost faith in the present APC leadership in the state.
They called for the dissolution of the party’s exco from wards up to the state level.
