The Akwa Ibom State government said it is looking for investors to set up modular refineries in the state to boost its economy.
Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources, Charles Udoh who disclosed this in an interview in Uyo said the government has created an enabling environment to attract investors interested in building modular refineries.

“Akwa Ibom government has no business in running any company or factory; what we do is to create enabling environment to attract investors to come and invest in creating those private entities which is what we have done since 2015 as a government”, he said.
He said a modular refinery in the state would bring about wealth creation, job opportunities, and make the product easily available.
