A total of 10,000 displaced families in Damasak, Borno State, on Sunday received the donation of food items which comprised of 25kg of rice 25kg of beans, 25kg of maize and 5 litres of cooking oil each from State Government.
Inhabitants of Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar local government area were displaced before the town became a stronghold of the insurgents.

People returned to the town with the help of the government after it was liberated.
A statement by Isa Gusau, government’s spokesman, said the food distribution exercise was conducted by Governor Babagana Zulum.
The governor arrived at Damasak on Saturday where he distributed inputs to 1, 200 irrigation farmers in addition to cash donations.
