Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Monday approved the appointment of Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha as the new Emir of Biu.
The new emir is to succeed his father, late Mai Umaru Mustapha , who died on 16th September.
Presenting the letter of appointment to the new Emir on Monday, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda, congratulated him for being the choice of the kingmakers.
The Deputy Governor, Hon. Usman Umaru Khadaru presented the letter of appointment to new Emir in the presence of kingmakers in Biu Palace.
Recall that the former Emir of Biu, HRH Umar Mustapha Aliyu, passed away last Monday night in Biu, headquarters of Biu local government area in southern part of Borno state.
He was 80, and died after an undisclosed illness.
