Government Comprehensive Secondary School Hinna (GCSS Hinna), was once a prominent school in Gombe State. It was operating as a boarding and day school before Boko Haram attacked it in 2015 which forced government to turn it into a day school only.
Many students not only from Gombe but other states like Borno were enrolled in the school with many now prominent people in the society graduating from there. However, following government’s negligence the school is now facing myriad of problems threatening its growth.
Among the problems are lack of classrooms, which is forcing students to be squeezed into the few available ones jeopardizing learning.
There is also a serious shortage of teachers, which is affecting learning as well as obsolete or shortage of laboratory equipment, which is a problem to, especially science students.
I therefore, appeal to Governor Inuwa Yahaya to look into this matter and rescue the school.
