Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State have described Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya as the recognised leader of the party in the state and not a former governor of the state, Senator Danjuma Goje.
The decision was reached at a meeting of the APC stakeholders from Gombe Central Senatorial District, held yesterday in Deba town of Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of the state.

In a communique issued after the meeting, the stakeholders commended Governor Yahaya for what they described as a “phenomenal performance in the first phase of his four-year tenure, which has placed the state on the trajectory of sustainable development.”
They also passed a vote of confidence on the governor and declared their support for him as leader of the party in the state.
The meeting was attended by party bigwigs including former Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Abdullahi Umar; Abubakar Mu’azu Hassan; members of the House of Representatives from the zone, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, all members of the state executive council and state legislators among others.
