Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has presented N109,801,524,879.49 as the 2022 budget proposal to the state House of Assembly.
The governor, while presenting the budget tagged, “Budget of Sustainable Transformation,” gave the recurrent expenditure as N70,891,582,458.57, representing 64.56 per cent, and capital expenditure as N38,909,942,420.92, representing 35.44 per cent.
He said, “The budget framework shows the difference of N5,921,289,663.59 only, representing 5.11 per cent decrease against the 2021 appropriation.”
“The idea behind the decrease is to operate on a realistic budget while sustaining our momentum of bringing transformation and economic development in the state.
“Details of these amounts are contained in the estimate’s document which I shall lay before you,” Sule added.
The governor reiterated that his administration would closely monitor the budget implementation to ensure discipline and adherence to best global practices.
He further assured on his administration’s determination to complete all ongoing projects to ensure the total transformation of the state for economic growth and the development of the citizens.
The speaker, Ibrahim Abdullahi, promised continuous collaboration of the assembly with the executive to ensure accelerated growth across the state.
He added that the house would work on the budget with the needed speed and detailed consideration.
