Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has signed a N208,064 million 2024 appropriation bill into law after being passed by the House of Assembly.
Daily Trust on Sunday reports that the House of Assembly increased the budget by N300m from the initial N207,750m proposal submitted by Governor Yahaya.
The budget breakdown indicates an allocation of 58 per cent for capital and 42 per cent for recurrent expenditures.
The governor commended the lawmakers for the expeditious passage of the bill and appreciated the longstanding collaboration between the executive and the legislative arms for maintaining the January to December budget cycle.

Yahaya reiterated that the 2024 budget, tagged: “Budget of Continuity and Consolidation”, would leverage on the gains of the previous budgets, maintaining that the Appropriation Act had resources allocated for increased infrastructure, enhanced healthcare services, improved education, human capital development, and job creation, among other priorities.
