Shekarau said on Saturday in Akure, while speaking with journalists on issues affecting the country, that the problem needed more attention and care.
The governor said he was not happy about the crisis because ‘’it results to loss of the nation’s human and natural resources’’.
He said that the Federal Government had to find out why the people of the oil producing areas were revolting.
‘’We need to find out why these young men are making trouble, we have not done enough to discover what is agitating their minds,’’ Shekarau said.
Stressing that the nation must however protect its integrity by resisting attacks, the governor said that it was unhealthy not to be fair to the government.
‘’I don’t believe in blind opposition, if things are done right and you continue to oppose them, you will become an irresponsible opposition,’’he said. (NAN)
