Gov Sani appoints Ex-Gov Yero’s spokesperson as Kaduna Media Corporation MD

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has appointed Ahmed Maiyaki, former Director General Media and Publicity under Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero, as the Managing Director of Kaduna State Media Corporations (KSMC).

Maiyaki, with about two decades of experience in Media and Strategic Communication, holds Master’s and Bachelors of Science degrees in Mass Communications from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He has attended various local and international training, including a Project Management Certification Programme that qualified him as an Associate Chartered Project Manager.

In 2022, Maiyaki was appointed the Vice Chairman of the Data, Research, and Verification Committee for the Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council (ICC). He also served in various roles for the Kaduna State APC Campaign Council during the 2023 general elections.

During his time as a reporter with Radio France Internationale (RFI), Maiyaki was recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the most influential journalists in Nigeria for his contribution to the eradication of poliomyelitis in Nigeria.

According to Mohammed Lawal Shehu, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, other appointments made by the governor include Rt. Hon. Nuhu Goroh-Shadalafiya as Chairman of the Kaduna State Legislative Service Commission (subject to confirmation by the Kaduna State House of Assembly).

Ibrahim Abdulkarim Adamu as Managing Director of Kaduna Market Development and Management Company, Engineer Idris Aminu as Managing Director of Kaduna State Power Supply Company, and Mr. Bamai Abu Nehamiah as Senior Special Assistant on Security.
