“I think this is the first time football event of this magnitude is happening in Katsina State. I wish to let you know that Governor Masari Pre-season Tournament is a long-term project. It’s an event that will be happening every year.

“The reason behind this competition is to show that Katsina State is committed to sports and youth development. It is to get our youth engaged and above all to give Katsina United the platform and privilege to have better and suitable preparations ahead of the new season.”

Danlami also disclosed that the grand finale of the tournament will be attended by dignitaries from Katsina Government House, NFF Executive Committee members and prominent football stakeholders across the country.

Already Katsina United and Niger Tornadoes have booked their semi-final tickets and would slug it out with opponents for a place in Sunday’s finals at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium.
