Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has called on Muslims to use the Eid-el-Fitri period to pray for the peace and unity of Nigeria, stressing that the Muslim Ummah must reflect on the significance of the religious obligations by putting to use spiritual lessons learnt during the 30-day Ramadan fast.
Lalong, in a statement made available by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Samuel Emmanuel Nanle, said the Plateau State Government had provided for the security of lives and properties of all during the celebration and beyond.
In his own Sallah message, the member representing Jos North-North in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Baba Hassan, called on Nigerians to use the period of Eid-el-Fitri for prayers, stressing that only God could salvage the country from its current economic crisis.
Baba Hassan who distributed 200 bags of rice to his constituents, said, “Nigeria and its leaders are desirous of fervent prayers, so we can overcome the current economic hardship.”
