Gov Lalong appoints new head of service, permanent secretaries

He is also a former Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Jos branch, and a former Council Member representing North Central on the Board of COREN.

Governor Simon Lalong has appointed Engineer Sunday Chong Hyat as the new Head of Service of the state.

Hyat’s appointment followed the retirement of former Head of Service, Izam Azi, after attaining the mandatory age of 60. Until his appointment, he was the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, in the office of the Head of Service.

He is also a former Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Jos branch, and a former Council Member representing North Central on the Board of COREN.

Hyat is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers and is registered with the American Society of Civil Engineers, and an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru.

Similarly, the governor has approved the appointment of 14 new Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service. They are: Ishaya Turba, Istifanus John, Ibrahim Kam, Alfed Zaman Datoel, Jacob Bitrus Keng, Ambrose Danjuma Allaburah, Annastesia Dongjur and Jesse Nimyel Miri.

Others are Alexander Plangnan, Kande Gotom, Fanto John Nanghin, Selfa Dashe, Nanlop Gupiya and Sunday G. Biggs.

All the new appointees, including the Head of Service, will be sworn in next Monday.
