Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has extolled the virtues of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume on his 70th birthday. Describing Akume as a consumate politician, Kefas noted that the septuagenerian has played key roles in the nation’s history.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, Kefas further noted that Akume has continued to be an inspiration in the corridors of power.

He said, “our celebrant today has demonstrated resilience in the face of daunting political challenges and has remained a solid pillar for our nascent democracy.”

Kefas stressed that Akume’s tenure as governor of Benue state set the tone for growth, especially in the area of human capital development.

On his national assignments, Kefas said Akume has continued to showcase a deep understanding of power politics and the intricate working of governance in his ministerial duties. Consequently, he said, Akume’s choice as Secretary to the Government of the Federal by the President Bola Tinubu administration did not come as surprise given his track records. The appointment, he said, was a befitting tribute to Akume’s roles as a national figure.

Kefas prayed that the SGF continue to enjoy good health and prosperity in the many years ahead.
