The outgoing governor of Yobe, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, has endorsed the nomination of the National Secretary of All Progressive Congress (APC), Mai-mala Buni as the party’s gubernatorial flag bearer of the state.
The governor made his decision known in a meeting with key party officials at the government house Damaturu.
At a meeting on Thursday, the party stakeholders said they were mandated to give discretion to the governor to nominate his successor for continuity, considering his foresight and the development stride he has brought to the state.
The state secretary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bakabe confirmed that the governor had officially submitted the name of MaiMala Buni as the anointed candidate to fly the party’s flag in 2019.
Supporters and party faithfuls were seen on the street jubilating the anointment of Mai Mala Buni for the ticket.
Daily trust gathered that the governor had also endorsed the Senate leader, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, for senate ticket and his spokesman, Malam Abdullahi Bego for house of representatives, Bade/Jakusko federal constituency.
