Gov Fintiri commissions 347.6km rural roads

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commissioned a total of 346.6 kilometres of rural roads which link over 300 communities and farmlands in the state.

The phase two rural access roads and river crossings spread across the 21 LGAs of the state which now link the communities to healthcare facilities, security and markets.

While commissioning the roads at Kuva Gaya in Hong LGA, Governor Fintiri reiterated commitment to achieving the 11-point-agenda of his administration, adding that the urban renewal and rural roads transformation were critical to the agenda.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State who was Fintiri’s guest described the project as a giant stride despite security challenges.

The National Coordinator of the Project, Engr. Aminu Mohammed, praised Adamawa for being rated the best in RAMP-2 projects in Nigeria.

The Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Abdullahi Prambe, said the deterioration of the earth roads within a short period of was a primary challenge which happened due to frequent usage.

He explained that in 2019 about 600 kilometres of roads were constructed, maintained and rehabilitated in the RAMP project.

He said the aim of the RAMP project, in collaboration with the World Bank and French Agency, was to facilitate sustainable development in rural areas.
