The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a N3.9 billion project to extend the Saminaka Storm Water drainage from Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Yola to Airforce Comprehensive Secondary School Yola in order to mitigate flooding in the state.
The project, awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited, aims to excavate and construct a 2.4km long, 7m wide, and 1.5m deep storm water drainage.
The six-month project will also connect existing culverts across the Jambutu bypass and provide access culverts at selected locations.
This development follows an appeal by the Chief of Air Staff during a courtesy call on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who pledged to address the issue.
