On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, unknown gunmen raided Bulangu town in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, leaving three businessmen injured and now receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
The bad men may have capitalised on the busy market day to carry out their dastardly act, knowing that thousands of businessmen would be there.
According to reliable reports, the criminal elements reportedly came to the market around 10:45am and started shooting sporadically before they reached out to a particular businessman said to be from Kyawa Local Government Area. The gunmen were also said to have shot that businessman alongside two others.
According to eye witnesses, this particular Kyawa businessman comes to Bulangu every market day (Wednesday) to sell his products which include flour, rice and others.

I urge the state and local governments to collaborate with the police, vigilantes, village heads and hamlets across Kafin Hausa Local Government Area for a roundtable discussion on how to confront this terrible situation once and for all.
