The Niger State governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has condemned the abduction of the permanent secretary of the state Ministry of Transport, Dr. Ibrahim Musa and his son.

Musa and his son were kidnapped at his residence in Zungeru, Wushishi Local Government Area of the state.

A source close to the family who spoke in confidence said the abductors were yet to contact the family at the time of filing this report.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Mary Noel Berje, the governor described the act as evil and inhuman.

It was reported that during the attack, 10 villagers were burnt alive while several houses were torched.

While stating that security operatives are capable of curtailing the situation, the governor stressed the need for the public to support them with timely information.

The governor re-assured of his administration’s efforts to address insecurity in the state.
