Niger state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello is expected to receive over 3,000 defectors during his campaign rally in Niger east senatorial district.

Bello had recently commenced his campaign rally ahead of March governorship election with scheduled visits to some local government areas across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The governor had already rounded off his campaign in Zone ‘A’ and is also on the last leg in Zone ‘C’ where he hails from.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy Alh Danjuma Sallau told newsmen yesterday in Minna that Bello would formally  receive members and supporters of other political parties who have decided to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as he continues his campaign in Zone ‘B’ in Munya, later in the week.

Sallau is one of the party stakeholders from the Zone and hails from Munya Local Government Area.

He said all arrangement to welcome the governor to the Council and receiving the defectors into the APC’s fold has been concluded.

According to him, the mass defections to the ruling party is as a result of a robust development programme aimed at touching the lives of the people of the state.

He assured the people of the Council of the commitment of Governor Bello to provide more democratic dividend to Nigerlites towards improving their lots.

Sallau appealed to the people of Munya and the state to continue to support the APC government to achieve its target of transforming the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the 11-man committee for the rally Alh Salisu Afakallah said APC stakeholders in Munya Local Govt are united on a common goal of ensuring the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Alh Salisu Afakallah also urged eligible voters in the areas to come out enmasse to obtain their Permanent Voters Card to vote the ruling party from top to bottom.
