Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State on Wednesday announced the creation of two additional ministries in the state.
The new ministries came one day after seven commissioners, nine permanent secretaries and nine special advisers were sworn in by the governor.
The ministries are the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneur Development.
Speaking during the maiden extended State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, the governor explained that the ministries were created to add more value to his administration and the state.
He noted that huge allocations were made for the ministries in the 2025 budgets, expecting them to create job opportunities for unemployed youth in the state.
“We have achieved much that positively impacted our communities and set a strong foundation for our future growth,” he said.
