The Gombe State Government says it will engage over 2,000 youths to be deployed as security, traffic and environmental corps across the state.
Coordinator of Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps (GoSTEC), Barrister Sani Ahmed, disclosed this yesterday at the induction ceremony of 500 youths recruited for the programme at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, Amada in Akko GA of the state.

He said the personnel will serve as managers of vehicular, human and animal traffic, support security agencies and help to keep the state clean.
Ahmed, who is also the Special Adviser to the governor on Human Capital Development, added that the programme was part of the plans to employ 20,000 graduates.
The state’s governor, Inuwa Yahaya, said the programme was a replacement of the disbanded special marshals under the Gombe State Agency for Social Services, initiated during the administration of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
Governor Yahaya reiterated commitment to tackling youth restiveness and social vices by providing them with the needed skills to be self-reliant.
