Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo approved a review of the curfew from 8pm to 6am daily, a statement by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Abubakar Sulei Bage said.
The statement urged the people of Gombe State to cooperate with
the security agencies.
Heavily armed Boko Haram militants had attacked Gombe but were later repelled. A 24-hour curfew was later imposed on the city.
The curfew had resulted in hardships with residents complaining of serious water scarcity in Gombe metropolis.
“Most of us are leaving from hand to mouth and for almost two or three days now we cannot go out to look for our daily bread. Dankwmabo should review the curfew and allow us go out to look for what to eat,” a resident said.
At Dadin Kowa people were seen going about their normal businesses and those who ran to the bush for safety are back home.
Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo on media and publicity, Junaidu Usman, said the curfew was imposed to protect the people and not to harm them.
