A member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Committee on Football Reform, Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara Gombe has resigned from the committee.
In a statement made available to Daily Trust yesterday, the former Gombe State Football Association Chairman, said he decided to resign his post because he was not comfortable with most members of the committee, who themselves needed to be reform; and that he was not convinced that the NFF is ready for meaningful reform.
“I thank you for your letter dated 4th December, 2018 referenced No: NRC/CHR/GEN/VOl./01 subject as appointment into NFF Committee on Football Reforms. I thank you for the recognition and I will immensely cherish this honour for a very long time in my life……….However, I have to without prejudice inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the reforms committee for the following reasons.
“I am not really convinced that NFF is ready for reform, the two members of the committee are currently under investigation by the Presidential Committee on Recovery of Public Property, and that the Executive arm and the National Assembly are not represented in the committee,” Gombe said.
